一个老木匠准备要退休，他告诉他的老板关于他想要退休的计划.他的老板感到十分惋惜。老板要求他帮他再建造最后一座房子.木匠答应了，但他并不是十分有兴趣.他用了材质比较差的材料并且不如以前那样努力建房子了.当这个木匠完成他的工作时，他的老板来看这座新房子。老板把这座房子的大门钥匙递给木匠。“这是你的房子”，老板说道。“这是我给你的礼物”.真是令人太震惊了！多么可惜啊！如果木匠知道他在建造自己的房子，他将会建造得完全不同.有时我们不尽我们最大的努力去完成我们的工作.并且我们发现我们必须住在自己建造的房子里.把你当成这个木匠。想想你的房子，天天在建造的房子，这是你唯一可以建造的房子。即使你只住在里面一天，那也要住的有尊严。你今天的生活决定于你过去的态度和作出的选择.你未来的生活也是这个道理.

 

Always do your very best

    An old carpenter（木匠）was ready to retire（退休）. He told his boss about his plans to leave.His boss was sorry to see his worker go. He asked if he could build him just one more house as a favor（善行）. The carpenter said yes, but he was not really interested. He used poor materials and didn’t work as before.When the carpenter finished his work, his boss came to see the new house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter. “This is your house,” he said, “my gift to you.”What a shock!（太让人震惊了！）What a shame（可惜）! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.Sometimes we do not give the job our best effort（努力）.Then we find that we must live in the house we built for ourselves.Thinking of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you are building it. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live in it for only one day, that day should be lived with dignity（尊严）.Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result.
